What happens to what you share.
Plain words about what we collect, who processes it, how long it stays, and how you can ask us to delete it. Last updated October 17, 2026.
What we collect
When you ask about a path or buy, we receive your name, email and chosen path. Payments are handled by Shopify, our payment partner. At its checkout Shopify collects your name, email, billing details and payment details and keeps its own records of your order, under its own privacy policy; it also sends your receipt and order emails. We never see your card details. Shopify tells our server when a payment is confirmed, cancelled or refunded, and from that we keep your order number, what you bought, the amount, and your email in scrambled (hashed) form. When you start checkout from this site we attach a random reference code to your order so we can match the payment to your access; it contains no personal information. For members we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your email, your order number, what you bought and your access dates. If you take the journey, a weekly check-in or the Word Builder, we also receive what you write there.
How your reflections are written
What you write travels to us over an encrypted connection and is encrypted again when we store it. To write your reflection, our server decrypts your answers and sends them, over an encrypted connection, to an outside AI service. Today that service is OpenAI. It returns the reflection, which we store on our server so you can open it with your private link. No person at SoulfulIQ reads your answers as part of the service. For a weekly check-in we also send a short summary of your earlier check-ins so the next step can build on them.
We may also ask the AI service to check your words for signs that someone is struggling, so that we can answer with care instead of a standard reading. For check-ins, the AI notes three private signals (awareness, action and plain language) to shape your next suggestion. They are not shown to you as scores and they do not decide whether anything is open to you.
The AI service may keep a copy of what we send for up to 30 days to detect abuse, under its own terms. OpenAI states that data sent through its business API is not used to train its models unless the customer opts in. We have not asked for any special retention arrangement with it. Before we send anything to a different AI service, we will update this page first.
What is and is not encrypted
Your answers are encrypted when stored. Your finished reflection (your Gift Map) is stored on our server and protected by access controls and by your private link and code, but it is not additionally encrypted. Our web server keeps ordinary technical logs for security. We turn that logging off for the pages and requests that carry your answers and member sign-in.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your answers and reflections until you ask us to delete them. We have not set an automatic deletion schedule yet, and we will say so here when we do. To delete, email randre@akuanode.com from the address you used. We delete your answers, reflections and progress records by hand and aim to finish within 30 days. If we keep server backups, copies may remain in them for a limited time after deletion. Purchase records may be kept as needed for accounting and tax.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information or use it for advertising. We share your name and email only with the service providers that help us reply or take payment.
Cookies
If you sign in as a member we set one cookie so the site knows you are signed in. It lasts up to 30 days or until you sign out. We do not use advertising cookies.
